Dear students, since we are going on our first HMSC field trip to CUHK for learning about HIV/AIDS on 31st December, I would like to make sure that we go there with preparation.
I will prepare a note on what you should observe and what data you should collect, but in the mean time please feel free to drop your questions, information or any materials your would like to ask or you know or have found about HIV/AIDS so that you can ask or find during the trip.
Here is something to begin with:
- A total of 195 additional cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection were reported to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) in the third quarter of 2014, bringing the cumulative total of reported HIV infections to 6 841 since 1984. This is the highest number reported in a single quarter so far, the second highest being 154 in the first quarter of 2014.
Now please post your findings replying to this thread.

Regarding with HIV/Aids,I have found an article. It's about the WHO reporting 'China is witnessing an evolving HIV epidemic'. With an estimated 800,000 people living in China with HIV/AIDS, the WHO’s country representative Bernhard Schwartlaender tells DW the nation needs to do more to prevent infection and eliminate stigma and discrimination. China really needs to take actions!
